 Agustin
B. Navarro, Jr. and his wife Andrea T. Navarro are registered
physiotherapists with 22 years experience and a successful practice in the
United States
and
Canada
. As a husband-and-wife team, they own two clinics, the Navarro
Physiotherapy Clinic at
4832 Fraser Street
in
Vancouver
and the Scott-Navarro Physiotherapy Clinic at
8620 - 120th Street
in
Surrey
for the last ten years. They have established a very credible reputation
in the local Filipino Community and among their many patients from the
mainstream society.
Agustin
Jr. graduated from
Emilio
Aguinaldo
College
in
Manila
with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy in1983. In 1984, he
immigrated to the
United States
and practiced as registered physical therapist in the states of
Texas
,
Georgia
,
North Carolina
and
Virginia
until 1991. That same year, he moved to
Canada
and worked as associate registered therapist at South Fraser Physiotherapy
Clinic in
Vancouver
. In 1995, Agustin Jr. and his wife Andrea opened their own clinic, the
Navarro Physical Therapist in
Vancouver
, followed by the opening of a similar clinic in
Surrey
.
Andrea
T. Navarro completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Theraphy
at the
University
of
Santo Tomas
in 1984. Two years later, she left for the
United States
and practiced as registered physical therapist in the states of
Georgia
and
Texas
.
The
couple met in 1986 while they were working as physical therapists in
Houston
,
Texas
and got married in Way Cross Georgia. They have two beautiful children,
Stephanie (11) and RJ (4).
Agustin
Jr. is the president/ director of Navarro Physiotherapist Inc. in
Vancouver
while Andrea is vice-president/director. For the Scott-Navarro
Physiotherapist Corporation in
Surrey
, Andrea is the president/director while Agustin is
vice-president/director. They have been featured in the Summer 2004 issue
of DIRECTIONS in Physiotherapy, a publication of the Physiotherapy
Association of British Columbia. The feature article states:
For the past ten years, they have owned the Navarro Physiotherapy Clinic

and Scott-Navarro Physiotherapy Clinic in
Surrey
. As business partners, Agustin, Jr. says: 'We have the opportunity to
follow-up, discuss, amend treatment protocols as well as talk different
strategies in improving both the professional and business growth of the
clinic.'
They
each bring their special areas of proficiency to the clinics.
Agustin Jr. focuses on orthopedic cases, sports injuries, post MVA
cases, shoulder injuries and rehab while Andrea's expertise is in
treatment of spinal lesions, work related injuries, orthopedic injuries,
post MVA and pelvic pain syndromes.
'The
advantages of sharing a profession is that you both can talk and share
candidly your experience in your everyday practice. We are each other's
critics, but at the same time we are each other's mentors. We have the
opportunity of enjoying and learning together in seminars and conferences,
as well as post-graduate studies.'
The
Navarros are both members of the
College
of
Physical Therapists
in BC, the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA), the Physiotherapy
Association of BC (PABC) and the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
They are well-known in the Filipino community; and are active supporters
of many worthwhile community projects.
