Dubbed
“The longest reigning top-selling Filipino Realtor in the North
Shore”, and most recently, acclaimed by Emcee par excellence Alvin Koh
Relleve as the “Realtor ng Bayan”, Pam Eliot, a successful and high
achieving Realtor of 15 years, continues to be the ever so popular choice
of Filipinos and many Vancouverites seeking to have a taste of that dream
professional real estate “serbis” which her clients acknowledge as
“walang kaparis.”
A former campus
activist during her university days at the University of the Philippines (U.P.),
she has metamorphosed into the mainstream and establishment persona that
she is today after joining Union Oil of California – a major
multinational in the
Philippines
- in the seventies. Immigrating to
Canada
in 1973, she was attracted to a Sears Head Office work in
Toronto
before landing a Director of Marketing Secretary work at the A&W Head
Office in
North Vancouver
, B.C., erstwhile subsidiary of Unilever.
A long-time resident of
North Vancouver, she has involved herself immensely in a modest deal of
planning and organizing – albeit silent – work for the North Shore
Multicultural Services society and the North Shore Filipino Community, her
last civic participation being in the massively appreciated and successful
2006 Philippine Independence Day celebration at the Waterfront Park at
Lonsdale Quay. As well, she gained some recognition from
North
Shore
federal, provincial and civic political personalities for her
contributions to the successful electoral bids of former MP Jeremy Dalton,
incumbent MLA Dan Jarvis and North Vancouver City Councillor Bob Fearnley.
Pam is a cheerful
supporter of campaigns launched to help in the promotion of culture and
sports and raising funds to meet in one way or another the needs of
transient Filipinos in distress in Vancouver. There appears to be a soft
spot in her heart that, when touched, turbo-charges her to work specially
for despairing fellowmen who are truly disadvantaged by their personal
circumstances, a trait that may be attributed to her meaningful stint as
sorority member of Delta Lambda Sigma Sorority at U.P. She wishes to
be involved soon in Gawad-Kalinga and Kultura Filipina type of social
action initiatives.
Pam is married to golf
game enthusiast Mike Eliot, a retired Program Officer of a B.C. Ministry
of
Ann
orney-General agency with whom she has two children, namely Michelle
Eliot-Ofreneo, a broadcast news producer at Canada Broadcasting
Corporation (CBC) and Dax Eliot, A Realtor and her very able sales team
mate. Pam is a grandmother to daughter Michelle’s and husband Rommer
Ofreneo’s bouncing baby girl – a bundle of joy named Bianca. Pam
speaks English, Tagalog, having been born and raised in
Manila
and Bisaya, her parents and husband being from
Surigao
City
in
Mindanao
.
